Drei Kommissionen des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen – die Kommission der Kirchen für internationale Angelegenheiten, die Kommission für Gesundheit und Heilen und die Kommission für Klimagerechtigkeit und nachhaltige Entwicklung – beendeten ihre Tagung am 8. März in Genf mit der gemeinsamen Entschlossenheit, die Herausforderungen der Welt hoffnungsvoll und praktisch anzugehen.

The HIV response has more than forty years now; timely and accessible medications are effective and ensure long healthy lives for people living with HIV. We have more prevention tools and strategies, we know much more about the virus, there are many organizations and websites with dedicated information; yet, HIV stigma persists in deep thinking, having serious consequences for the 38 million people living with HIV across the world.

Where are we at the climate change negotiations?

COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh is over. Numerous reports have all pointed out that if we don't cut the emissions of greenhouse gases radically and immediately, we will not keep the global average temperature rise below 1.5 degrees. Therefore, the emissions must drastically decrease in the coming decades if we want to avoid severe consequences for our home, planet Earth.

New and Emerging Technologies, Ethical Challenges (statement)

New technologies are transforming our world and the multiple spaces in which we live, work and witness. These technologies offer us new ways to create, to heal, to communicate, and to navigate the world. However, many such technologies, while undoubtedly offering actual or potential advances in human wellbeing, have also raised concerns regarding their social and environmental impacts and ethical implications, especially in light of the rapidity of their development and application.
